The basement of the Volart 2 gallery is receiving the work of the Catalan painter Xavier Valls (Barcelona, 1923-2006), who moved to Paris in the 1950's. Glòria Bosch, the show's curator, has avoided any attempt at a chronological classification and presents, with a selection of 24 pieces from his periods in Horta and Paris, the timeless essence of his work. The show includes early works from his long career and establishes parallels between other artistic disciplines, such as music, which were vital to his creative process.
