Joan Furriols (Vic, 1937) presents Silence, a display of work from a fruitful artistic career which stretches from the 1950s up to the present day. The exhibition brings together and presents side by side some 80 works from several periods, which over the years have fed off one another, in a cohesive, solid and harmonious group.
Joan Furriols is a consistent artist with a solid body of work whose intermittent production has distanced him from establishment art circles, resulting in an intimate and playful output which has never lost contact with his creative impulses and avoids commercialism. This fact is fundamental to understanding the development of his work, characterised by an intense sensibility and a sense of artistic freedom, and which traces a bold line towards an intimate and deft brand of conceptualism.
